The early achievements of Maureen FitzSimons in the arts of performing, and which we now know as Maureen O'Hara, would certainly have qualified her to the "child prodigy" category. As a person with Irish heritage, and surrounded as she was by gifted parents, and her family did this naturally. Maureen was welcomed into the safe haven of her parents on August 17, 1920, located in Ranelagh (a suburb of Dublin), Ireland. Marguerita LIlburn FitzSimons is the mother of her. She was a skilled contralto. Charles FitzSimons ran a Dublin firm, as well as had shares in the Irish Shamrock Rovers soccer club. Maureen FitzSimons is the 2nd child from Charles FitzSimons. Peggy FitzSimons, Florrie Fitzsimons Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons The rest of the family rounded out this wonderful family. Maureen was an athletic natural and loved playing sporting games. Her passion and her gift to perform was impressive. As a result, she received almost all of the Feis Awards for dramatic and acting in her home country. As she reached the age of 14 she was accepted by the Abbey Theater accepted her and permitted her to pursue her dreams of classical theater and singing opera.
